How old do renters need to be in order to rent a boat from Joe's Rent A Boat?

If renting a motor boat you must be 21 or older. If renting a kayak, stand up paddle board or  pedal boat, you do not need to be 21 or older but will need a parent or guardian to sign for anyone under the age of 18.  

If renting a kayak, stand up paddle board or pedal boat do you need to be a strong swimmer in order to rent from Joe's Rent a Boat?

Yes you need to be a strong swimmer, if the renter was to tip over into the water and not know how to swim or be able to keep themselves up it can become extremely unsafe. 

Does Joe's Rent a Boat provide life jackets?

Yes we do, we provide life jackets for adults and children. 

Does Joe's Rent a Boat take reservations?

No, we do not do reservations and are ONLY first come first serve. 

Are there distance restrictions on the rentals?

Yes. Motor boats, stand up paddle boards and kayaks can go up the coast to Long Point Light and down to the coast to the Rock Quarry. Pedal boats must stay inside the harbor at all times. When renting, you will be provided more information on boundaries from our employees at Joe's Rent a Boat. 

Can renters go beyond the boundaries?

No, renters must stay between the boundaries and are not aloud outside of those boundaries. We will never change those boundaries for anyone. 

What rentals are offered at Joe's Rent a Boat?

We offer 15hp and 20hp motor boats, stand up paddle boards, single kayaks, double kayaks and pedal boats.

Does Joe's Rent a Boat rent jet skis?

No we currently do not rent jet skis. 

Why does Joe's Rent a boat close for the season?

Joe's Rent a Boat is a seasonal business, open from April through October. The business closes for boat maintenance and weather changes.
